The Factory  |  mixed-media  | self-commissioned
An impactful illustration featuring a majestic blue whale against a white backdrop. The whale's back is adorned with industrial chimneys, factory installations, and pipes that seem to extract fluids from its body. This surreal composition evokes a strong emotional response, symbolizing the destructive impact of human industry on our natural world.
I tasked myself with creating an editorial illustration for a popular science magazine on the topic of ocean exploitation and destruction of natural habitats. I chose a colour palette that would complement the emotional tone of the article and surreal symbolism to convey a compelling message and sense of urgency.
