The environmental issues are very close to my heart. In this illustration I have used a surreal language to speak about irrevocable harm civilization has been causing, already for centuries, to the wildlife, with its industrial exploitation.
The final illustration was painted with gouache and coloured pencils.

Pencil study of humpbacks.
The sketch on the top is the first original rough drawing I came up with that has inspired the whole project. I was very moved by the idea and made another, more developed sketch (with a ballpoint pen) right below.
At this stage I was considering a split view - above and below the see level. I've decided to abandon this idea for the sake of overall readability.
