I created this illustration for October — a month brimming with autumnal mystique — in a calendar of mythological animals. In Slavic mythology, the oak and the deer share a sacred bond: the Tree of Life and its noble guardian, together representing the eternal cycle of nature, strength, and renewal. The stag's glowing, pupil-less eyes and the golden oak rising behind him carry that quiet, otherworldly reverence.
