I created this illustration for October in a mythological animals calendar, a month brimming with autumnal mystique. In Slavic mythology, the connection between oak trees and deer takes the form of the sacred bond between the Tree of Life (the oak) and the noble deer, representing the eternal cycle of nature, strength, and renewal.
